A stitch in my side

Project — July 2011

The Girl Handkerchief Quilt and the Boy Handkerchief Quilt — simply made from 5-6 packets each of square handkerchiefs I bought from Best & Less.  I washed them first to get rid of the stiffening in them – unfortunately this also made them fray slightly as well. You can always square them up with your quilting ruler but I left them as is as I wanted a slightly mismatched appearance.

A good hot iron also helped bring them back into shape.

A quick and easy little project that came together in a couple of afternoons. I backed them both with some soft flannelette I purchased from Spotlight.
